Medical Guide: Heatstroke in DayZ
Heatstroke is a lethal environmental hazard introduced in the DayZ Badlands expansion. Continuous exposure to the blazing sun and excessive body heat causes rapid dehydration, developing through four dangerous phases.
During the initial phases, players will experience intense sweating, swift hydration depletion, occasional blurred vision, and severely diminished stamina. If left untreated, phases 3 and 4 trigger violent vomiting spells, darkening screen blackouts, recurrent unconsciousness, and gradual health drain until death.
To treat and prevent heatstroke, immediately take shelter indoors away from the sun, strip down warm clothing, and drink clean water. Interacting with a water well or pond using the Wash face action will drastically lower your core body temperature and help you recover.
