Medical Guide: Fracture in DayZ

A Fracture (broken leg) is a severe physical injury in DayZ that immediately restricts your movement to crawling or slow limping. Attempting to run or walk fast will cause intense pain, draining your shock stat and knocking you unconscious.

To avoid fractures, navigate rooftops and ladders carefully, and pay attention to pathways in military bases where other survivors might have placed defensive landmines or bear traps.

If you break your leg, you must immediately craft a Wooden Splint combining rags or bandages with wooden sticks. Applying the splint will allow you to walk, though you still won't be able to run. The leg will heal naturally over a period of 15 to 30 minutes while the splint is active.
