Gear Guide: Balaclava in DayZ

The Balaclava is a piece of face gear in DayZ. Choosing the right equipment is vital to survive the harsh weather of Chernarus or Livonia, as well as having enough storage slots to carry all your loot (ammo, food, medicine).

Unlike other clothes, the Balaclava does not provide additional storage capacity. Furthermore, its thermal insulation level is classified as Maximum. A good insulation level is crucial to prevent diseases such as influenza or hypothermia when it rains or during the night.

Always keep an eye on the durability (condition) of your clothing. If the Balaclava becomes ruined, it will lose all its thermal insulation and the gear stored inside could fall out or get damaged if you take shots or hits from infected. Use sewing kits or duct tape to repair it in time.
